Our History

It is in the spirit and remembrance of days gone by that this association was formed in August 1962.

We started our show with the Gasconade County Fair in August, 1962.

This first show featured:

One 8-16 International tractor owned by Ferd AufderHeide of Owensville, MO

One 22-36 tractor owned by Ed Roethemeyer of Owensville, MO

Our main objective of our annual show is to let the “youngters” see how these old steam tractor engines were used to supply the power for plowing, threshing, sawing, grinding, etc.

Old-timers will tell you that the days spent threshing of wheat and oats were “the good ol’ days.” Many hours of work by members have gone into the restoration of these steam engines so that you can see and enjoy some of their performances, which are now a thing of the past.

Our show continues each year at the City Park in Rosebud, the third Friday, Saturday and Sunday of July. We welcome everyone to the show and encourage those with a love for America’s farming history to join our organization in order to help keep the past alive!
